What is the difference between life coaching and mindset coaching?

Life coaching has more of an exterior approach to helping someone in their life. They typically look at what is going on right now and what they want to change, and there are a lot of tactical steps in changing habits and routines, looking at bridging the gap from where they are to where they want to go.

You need mindset coaching too, because mindset coaching goes into the root cause of why you have the habits that you have. If you're struggling to make changes in your life, it could be because of the beliefs and patterns stored in your subconscious mind, which influence your actions. So even on a conscious level, if you're trying to make change and it's not happening, it's because where the problem lies is in the subconscious mind. Mindset coaching helps you locate those trapped, limiting beliefs negative emotions, thoughts, habits, and patterns, and rewire them into what it is you want instead. There's a lot of science behind mindset coaching versus life coaching, which can often be just business-related or experience-related coaching.

What are the key elements of your 3-step process for creating rapid and massive results in mindset coaching?

They are called “Love it”, “Thank it”, and “Bring it”. “Love it” is for your past. “Thank it” is for your present. “Bring it” for your future.

  • Love it: Embrace your life and your past, both the good and the bad, as valuable experiences that have shaped who you are today.  All of those experiences have had value!
  • Thank it: Be grateful for the present moment and appreciate everything you have in your life, no matter how small… because gratitude opens you up to receive more things to be grateful for.
  • Bring it: Take deliberate action to create the future you desire, knowing that you have the power to shape your life with your thoughts, words, and actions. By being intentional, your life experiences get created by you instead of life happening to you.

Sofia Health connects you to traditional, integrative, nutritional, holistic, and spiritual healing professionals to help you personalize your healing journey.

Are there specific exercises or practices you often recommend to clients for ongoing personal development outside of coaching sessions?

Here are two powerful practices I recommend for living with intention and unlocking your full potential:

  • Personalized Mantra Meditations: These are tailored meditation sessions designed for my private clients to listen to daily. They help release trapped trauma and negative beliefs, empowering clients to dream bigger, take inspired action, and build confidence toward their goals and desires for the future.
  • Uniqueability List: This involves creating a list of accomplishments, achievements, things that they excel at, and things they love to do, regardless of financial or time constraints. This practice serves to remind clients of their uniqueness, talents, and capabilities, fostering a sense of self-appreciation and empowerment. By focusing on their strengths and acknowledging how far they've come, clients shift their mindset from one of lack to one of abundance, attracting positive opportunities and manifestations into their lives.

What advice do you have for individuals looking to cultivate a more positive and motivated mindset in their daily lives?

Take a comprehensive look at your life across eight key areas: health, love, family, money, career, spirituality, community, and fun. Rate each area on a scale of one to ten and identify the ones where you're not satisfied. Focus on improving one area at a time, setting clear goals, and taking actionable steps towards them. By prioritizing and tackling one aspect at a time, you can create significant changes in your life within a relatively short timeframe, potentially reinventing your whole life in one to three years.

What inspired you to specialize in coaching women over 40, and what unique challenges and opportunities do you see in this demographic?

I specialize in coaching women over 40 because I personally experienced significant life changes during that time. Having gone through my challenges and transformations, including attempting suicide, I understand the unique struggles faced by women in this demographic. Many of them are in a period of transition, often referred to as the 'second chapter of life,' where they have spent years prioritizing others over themselves.

Additionally, a considerable number of these women have unresolved childhood and teenage trauma, which can manifest into depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues later in life. I am passionate about empowering these women to recognize their strength, heal from past pain, and create fulfilling lives.

How do societal expectations and stereotypes about aging impact the mindset and goals of your clients in this age group?

Societal expectations and stereotypes about aging heavily impact the mindset and goals of my clients in this age group. They are bombarded with approximately 70,000 messages daily from various media channels, all conveying the message that they are not enough. These messages are often tied to consumerism, pushing products and services to address insecurities.

However, mindset work is crucial in combating these external influences. Aging is portrayed as inevitable but also beautiful—a state of mind rather than just a physical process. I encourage women to reject negative narratives about aging and recognize the power of their minds in shaping their experiences. Aging is not synonymous with decline; it's about embracing vitality and inner strength.

Midlife often brings various life transitions. How do you guide women through transitions such as empty nesting, career changes, or relationship shifts?

In guiding women through midlife transitions such as empty nesting, career changes, or relationship shifts, I help them challenge societal expectations and embrace the idea that this phase of life is an opportunity to shine brighter than ever before. I encourage them to let go of preconceived notions about where they 'should' be in life and instead focus on embracing the present moment and starting fresh each day. Whether it's navigating changes in relationships or embarking on new career ventures, I emphasize that age is not a barrier to success or fulfillment. Drawing inspiration from figures like Louise Hay, who started a groundbreaking venture at 61, I instill in them the belief that it's never too late to reinvent themselves and pursue their dreams with passion and vigor.

What strategies do you recommend for women over 40 who are considering significant career changes or pursuing new passions later in life?

For women over 40 considering significant career changes or pursuing new passions, I recommend getting a coach. Working with a coach who has experience or expertise in the areas you're interested in can help you navigate challenges, accelerate your success, and tap into your full potential. A good coach will not only provide guidance and support but also help you dream bigger and overcome limitations you may not even be aware of. Investing in coaching can save you valuable time and unlock exciting opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

Is there anything more that you wish women knew?

I wish more women knew that nobody has it figured out and that is okay to ask for help. It is okay to say no. It is okay to lean on people. Think about it for yourself when there's someone in needespecially another woman in need and how good that feels for you when you get to help her. When you don't ask for help, you are denying other people's karmic contract to be in service on this earthly journey. You must learn to ask for help! It is part of your role and job to balance out the energy of what we all came to do, which is to be here to love each other and help each other. So ask for help.

What are your most helpful tips for women’s health?
Prioritize breathwork and meditation. Learning proper breathing techniques can alleviate stress, anxiety, and negative emotions, while also promoting relaxation and overall well-being. By incorporating regular breathwork and meditation into your routine, you can support your central nervous system and promote optimal health and wellness.
